Fr. Michael Pfleger - A Priest No Longer Worthy of The Roman Collar

I wonder if this so-called catholic priest will give such a fiery sermon to Obama on his support of abortion?! I, as a Catholic, would like to see that and then would have some respect for the man. The sins committed by the Bush White House are many and grave (from the lies of the Iraq war to the neglect of New Orleans pre- and post-Katrina) but is the sin of abortion any less grave? Why stand so strong for a man who might send a few bucks to the Gulf Coast but will certainly allow millions of babies to be murdered in the womb, including those that actually make it into the world?

Its time for this priest, and many other Catholics, to conform their politics to the teachings of Christ and His Church and not the other way around.

I absolutely agree....Conform or get out. Catholicism is not a democracy. The teachings are not your opinion. But we defininately need to pray for his conversion.

Something makes me doubt he would support a man who would really help his state and country such as Mr. Keyes. Perhaps Keyes could teach Fr. Pfleger something about Catholicism and about logical thinking.

Somehow I doubt it. These 'social activist" prest never seem to include the protection of the unborn in their litany of oppressions. Keyes will be my write-in candidate for Pres for sure though.

You are correct on all accounts Joe.

Catholics please don't be misled. If you will hear sermons like that of
Fr. Pfledger, certainly it does not conform to the christian teaching and preaching about love.

I am a proud catholic. But if Fr. Pfledger's sermon spews hatred, I will remind everyone; Watch out of wolves in sheep's clothing.(Mt.7:15) You will know them by their fruits. The bible says.

Otherwise your life will be ended in hell

Well, that would require you to actually come in to Father's inner city parish. Father is quite respected by those Catholics who live in or minister in his neighborhood. I don't think he worries too much about those who have never step foot in his parish.

Katherine, he shouldn't worry about what others think. But he should be worried about what Christ thinks. From the mess I see he has made of the liturgy and his support for an extreme pro-abort candidate like Obama, I think he should be worried.
